Ardeni, one of Serenitia's largest furniture manufacturers, has announced it will withdraw all manufacturing and business operations from the United Republic of Great Ritan, accusing the government of "interference" in its corporate activities.
The company currently operates four factories and two corporate offices in Great Ritan. All facilities are expected to wind down production in the coming months as assets, staff, and supply chains are reorganized.
In a brief statement, Ardeni said its decision followed "persistent and unacceptable government intervention" that it claims made continued operations "unviable." No specific incidents were publicly detailed, however, it is known that Great Ritan, due to its socialist-communist leaning governance, has increased regulatory scrutiny on foreign corporations in recent years.
UGR authorities have not yet commented on the withdrawal.
Analysts say the exit marks one of the most high-profile foreign business departures from Great Ritan in recent years and can result in economic disruption in places where Ardeni had significant operations.
